GT06 started as so many others have .... cancelled flights, missed connections, lost bags, misplaced vans, and rain. Yet that didn't stop the team from being excited. They ministered with little sleep, jet-lagged bodies and some with dehydration the second day here. From that first One Community Church service, the ministry never stopped. We ministered to over 10 000 kids in 13 schools and lead a 1000 strong youth rally in some great worship through dance. It was a great week of ministry.

One of the most memorable schools was a preforming arts class run by a very eccentric teacher. They tough students were not easily impressed, to the point that the teacher threatened the students with suspension if they did not participate. It only took a "dance battle" to change the mood. The whole class got involved. The Gents and Flames were ecstatic, the students were incredible and the atmosphere was electric. A moment we will never forget - shared some moves and ministered to this hard but beautiful group of kids.

Personally it was a good week. There were a few challenges but mostly it was an encouraging first week. The Host team were passionate and flexible. There were a lot of laughs which is the way we like it. I offered to drive the first day and somehow ended up in the drivers seat each day. Oh well, they say I like that seat … hhmmmm. Overall, a great first week!
